Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) Specialist:
Definition:
Assist clients in gaining and utilizing skills such as behavior control, social skills, academic improvement, communication skills, appropriate interpersonal behavior, symptom management, and coping skills.
Purpose:
- Provide service for the progressive reduction of the effects of a mental health disability
- Provide interventions and services to promote the highest possible level of success
- To assist clients in obtaining skills to live independently
Minimum Qualifications:
A PSR specialist must:
- have a bachelor’s degree in: Psychology, Sociology, Community Health Sciences, Health Ecology, Public Health, Social Work, Human Development and Family Studies, Early Childhood Education, Nursing, Speech Pathology or Anthropology
- pass FBI and Nevada background check
- have a negative TB test
- have reliable transportation and current driver’s license and insurance
- have the ability to read, write and follow oral instructions
- be able to communicate effectively
- maintain client confidentiality

Basic Skills Trainer:
Definition:
Assist clients in learning constructive cognitive and behavioral skills through positive reinforcement, modeling and other training techniques.
Purpose:
- Teach clients a variety of lifeskills
- Provide service for the progressive reduction of the effects of a mental health disability
- Provide interventions and services to promote the highest possible level of success
- To assist clients in obtaining skills to live independently
Minimum Qualifications:
A BST must:
- Have a high school diploma or GED equivalent
- Pass FBI and Nevada background check
- Have a negative TB test
- Have reliable transportation and current driver’s license and insurance
- Have the ability to read, write and follow oral instructions
- Be able to communicate effectively
- Maintain client confidentiality

Therapist:
Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW), Marriage and Family Therapists (MFT) or Marriage and Family Intern License (MFT-I) to provide individual services to adults and children. Hours are flexible but most hours will be in the afternoons, evenings and/or weekends. Therapists will provide play, individual and family services. Therapists will also be responsible for conducting assessments and completing all paperwork in a timely manner, and attending staff meetings.
Must:
- Have previous experience working with children
- Be available to work with Washoe County Human Services Agency
- Have one of the following licences: Nevada LCSW, Nevada MFT or Nevada MFT-I
Preferred:
- Credentialed with Medicaid FFS and other insurance providers
