Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA) (PSR)

As one of our Staff, you will provide interventions designed to assist clients in gaining and utilizing skills such as behavior control, social skills, academic improvement, communication skills, appropriate interpersonal behavior, symptom management, and coping skills.  Even though the primary population we serve is children, in this role you will also have the opportunity to work with adults.

Position Requirements

  • Medicaid Credentialed (Preferred)
  • Have been or are willing to be vaccinated for Covid-19
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in: Psychology, Sociology, Community Health Sciences, Health Ecology, Public Health, Social Work, Human Development and Family Studies, Early Childhood Education, Nursing, Speech Pathology or Anthropology.
  • Pass FBI background check
  • Have a negative TB test
  • Have reliable transportation
  • Have a current Driver’s License, Registration and Insurance
  • Have the ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • Be able to communicate effectively
  • Maintain client confidentiality

Therapist

Do you want a job where you can have a positive impact on a child’s life?  If so, Kids First Family Services is for you!  We have an immediate opening for an Outpatient Therapist whose primary role is to implement evidence-based therapy tailored to the needs of each client.

As one of our therapists, you will provide clinical interventions, including play therapy, designed to reduce mental health impairments, promote client and family safety, and increase family stability for the client and family.  Even though the primary population we serve is children, in this role you will also have the opportunity to provide individual therapy for adults, family therapy and couple’s therapy. 

What we do for you

We support you in the therapy you provide by managing the administrative tasks so you can focus on treating our clients.  Our staff takes care of scheduling, billing, credentialing and submitting insurance authorizations for you!  In addition, we offer support in learning about play therapy and other modalities as our Clinical Director has over 20 years’ experience.  This is an opportunity to work in a very supportive and innovative environment!

Position Requirements

  • Be available to work with Washoe County Human Services Agency
  • Have one of the following licences: Nevada LCSW, Nevada MFT, Nevada CPC or Nevada MFT-I, Nevada CSW-I, Nevada CPC-I
  • Have been or are willing to be vaccinated for Covid-19
  • Must be able to pass the Nevada and FBI Background Check
